"He's mad that trusts in the tameness of a wolf, a horse's health,
a boy's love, or a whore's oath."
~King Lear, Act III, scene 6
Back to the old grindstone...yes, that means that college has started again and I am taking all new classes. German 102, Astronomy 162 (the professor looks like a middle-age Mel Brooks), Architecture 111, Communication Studies 240, and English 101. They are all good and I know I will enjoy them, but as with all school, I will be ready for them to end.
Today, was a particularly uneventful day...I woke up around ten, lost track of time and missed what was apparently a great basketball game and just sat in my room doing homework, watching TV, reading and in general...being a real dorm potato. (Which is my version of a couch potato but I have no couch nor anything even remotely close to a couch so I think that my new saying will do well in this world.
There's not really anything to talk about, so I would say this could be a very short entry...if it's like this every week, maybe I should just blog once every other week...
My birthday is this coming Wednesday...it will be my first birthday away from my family...and it's on a Wednesday, which, to any normal person, would be no big deal, but to me, I have waited for years for my birthday to fall on a Wednesday because our praise team has a tradition that whoever has a birthday, we sing a really bad version of Happy Birthday to them...it sounds weird, I know, but I really wanted to be sung that at least once in my life...but alas, I will not be home for them to sing it to me...they said that they would Skype me, but I don't know if they will remember and I don't want my world to come crashing down if they forget. In other words...I don't want to put all my eggs in that basket only for them to spill...oh well, I guess we'll just have to wait until Wednesday and see.
And...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!
